Cell Biology

actin-stained_fibroblasts.jpg (21798 bytes)Welcome to BIOL351: Cell Biology

This page is designed as a supplement to our course.   As we progress through the semester, I will place notes, images, and links onto and from this home page.

Cell biology is a fascinating field.  A single cell can be an entire organism in its own right.  When trillions of cells work together, they can form a multicellular organism like each of us.  It is an error in a single cell that can lead to the devastation of cancer.  Cells can move and interact.  Cells can respond to signals in their environment.  You will learn about how cells carry out many of their functions through this course.

Once the course is in progress, you will find more links along the left to important websites that I have authored for you.  Please let me know if you find this website useful!  You can always e-mail me (Tamarkin@STCC.edu) .
