Advances in computer technology and the exponential growth of the Internet have created opportunities for local and global communication which were never before possible. Americans are a diverse people from every corner of the Globe with an unprecedented need to further global awareness while progressing technically for 21st century living. This course brings together the relatively new field of Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) with Global studies in an integrated exploration of the impact of technology on issues of race, class, gender, and culture.
