Reading assignments listed next to the course dates refer to required reading from the text that should be done by that date, and will be the material that I cover on that date.  The text reading refers to the course book – Biotechnology Unzipped; Promises and Reality, 2nd edition by Eric S. Grace, 2006.  The weekly selected assigned readings are NOT optional readings, but an important part of preparation for the class.  Since this class is a small, discussion based class, it is extremely important to come to class prepared.

**Tuesday November 24th : Last Day to Withdraw from a course without penalty.  I do not withdraw students who stop attending—it is your responsibility to withdraw yourself from the class.  Students who do not withdraw must be assigned a grade based on completed work.  This grade cannot be changed at a later time.
