PAPER/PRESENTATION 

Due Date: December 5th 2007

Choose a current science article (preferably within this year, and no older than within the last three years) from a newspaper, magazine, journal, or book, which you find interesting and would like to write your paper about. The article should have some relevance to the topics addressed in this class.

The paper should include the following:

A general synopsis of the article.

bullet

A thorough description of the science in the article from what you have learned in class and through readings. Use other sources (newspapers, magazines, books, the internet) to elaborate.

bullet

A discussion of how this type of science/experiment affects society - for better or worse.

DETAILS:

Include a copy of the article along with the paper.

bullet

The paper should be 3 to 4 pages in length, double-spaced. You can include figures if you want, but these will not count towards your page count.

bullet

The font size should be 10 or 12 pt.

bullet

The margins should be no smaller than 1/2 inch around, and no larger than 1 inch around.

bullet

Reference all materials appropriately, including any information from the Internet.  Internet resources should have author (or organization name), web address and date.

PRESENTATION:

You will make a 5 – 10 minute presentation on your topic in class. Your presentation can include any type of visual aid that you wish to use -- chalkboard, overheads, computer, handouts, etc. Be prepared to discuss your topic with the class.
