Multiplying Monomials:

A one term polynomial is called a monomial. To multiply two monomials, multiply the coefficients and then multiply the variables. When multiplying two variables, we keep the variables and add the exponents.

Multiplying a Monomial and a Polynomial:

Use the distributive law and multiply each term using the technique used to multiply two monomials. Multiply the first term of the binomial by the monomial then multiply the second term of the binomial by the monomial again.
